SNI’s commitment to making a positive difference in Madagascar is evident through its partnership with the Save the Youth association, which has been actively operating in Madagascar since 1998. This organization focuses on assisting orphanages, jails, and individuals living in slums, including widows, abandoned mothers, and their children. SNI’s support to “Save the Youth” has enabled the provision of basic supplies such as food, school materials, winter clothes, hygiene items, and building supplies to those in need. The partnership has also resulted in the construction of two schools in areas that previously lacked educational facilities.

In 2022 “FANANTENANA VAO” center, also known as “New Hope” opened its doors thanks to SNI’s funding. Located in the lower districts of Itaosy, a rural area in the Central Highlands of Madagascar, this shelter was built with the support of SNI to provide a safe haven for destitute elderly individuals who were living in the streets and low-lying areas of Tananarive. Through this project, SNI aims to address the pressing issue of homelessness and improve the lives of vulnerable individuals.

In recent years, one of the schools built by “Save the Youth” was devastated by a cyclone, leaving the students without a proper learning environment. Recognizing the importance of education in breaking the cycle of poverty, SNI stepped in and sponsored the complete reconstruction of the school. Thanks to the generous donations received, children in Madagascar now have access to quality education, which equips them with the necessary tools to build a better future for themselves and their communities.

Moreover, “Save the Youth” embarked on a significant construction project at two public schools in October 2016. One of the schools was entirely destroyed by a cyclone, necessitating the need for complete reconstruction. Additionally, the second school, with 600 children, faced overcrowding issues with only six classrooms available. To address these challenges, SNI’s support has enabled the construction of four spacious school rooms above the existing building, as well as a new dining hall to ensure comfortable learning environments for the children. The Fenomanana canteen serves more than 260 meals each day to poor bush children, which is 800kg of rice and 200kg of dry beans each month.

Through the dedicated efforts of SNI and its partnership with “Save the Youth,” children in Madagascar are provided with the educational opportunities they deserve. By breaking the cycle of poverty and empowering them with knowledge and skills, SNI aims to create a brighter future for these children, offering them improved prospects and the ability to lead fulfilling lives. The impact of SNI’s projects in Madagascar is made possible by the generous contributions of our faithful sponsors who believe in the power of education to transform lives.
