SNI has played a vital role in making a significant impact in Kenya since its foundation in 2012 through various projects aimed at improving the lives of those in need.
SNI has been partnering with Family Care Mission, a registered NGO in Kenya on remarkable projects such as the Olives Rehabilitation Program in Bombolulu, Mombasa. This on-going program has been able to provide primary school education to all attending children. Additionally, a Feeding Program ensures that the children and their teachers receive daily meals. This support directly benefits 300 underprivileged children, giving them access to education and vital nourishment that they may not have otherwise.
This collaboration extends beyond just education and hunger relief efforts. Together, we are enabling annual Medical Camps, providing free medical treatment, lab tests, and VCT counseling to thousands of patients in even the most remote areas of Kenya. This initiative ensures that healthcare services reach those who need them the most, improving the overall well-being of communities.
With the grant provided by SNI numerous achievements have been made in various areas:
- Financial support has been provided to boost monthly salaries for teachers and school staff, ensuring they can continue their crucial work.
- Electrical fittings were installed in nine classrooms, addressing the lack of electricity in the school and enhancing the learning environment.
- Additionally, the installation of four new water tanks with faucets, a handwashing campaign, and a rainwater harvesting system have significantly improved hygiene and access to clean water.
SNI’s contributions have also made a difference in the lives of teachers, staff, and parents. Health kits containing first aid supplies, vitamins, and Aqua Guard have been donated to ensure the well-being of the school community. New chairs, books, and trophies have been provided to enhance the learning experience for students and recognize their achievements.
SNI’s funding has resulted in far-reaching outcomes, with tangible improvements in various aspects. The collaboration between Family Care Mission and SNI has positively impacted the Olives Rehabilitation Center and School, as well as the Stev-In Junior School. These institutions have become beacons of hope for 250 children from poverty-stricken households, providing them with education up to Standard 8, including a recognized government exam. Moreover, the provision of daily free school lunches, the literacy programs for adults, and the counseling services have transformed these schools into community centers, offering comprehensive support to those in need. Additionally, supplies for hygiene stations, funding for a rainwater collecting system and classroom repairs, and legal work for a certificate of ownership have made a significant impact. Similarly, at the Stev-In Junior School, repairs to the kitchen, supplies for sanitation needs, and salaries for teachers and staff have greatly contributed to the school’s functioning and the well-being of its students.
Furthermore, the partnership has been actively working on a Famine Relief Project in the drought-affected Kwale County, providing food aid packages to over 500 families in need. These efforts showcase the commitment and dedication of both organizations in alleviating hunger and the suffering of the most vulnerable communities.
Join us in making a lasting impact on the lives of the people living on the periphery of society in Kenya. Together, we can create a brighter future by providing the basic right of every human being to education, nutritious meals and shelter. Your contribution can make a significant difference in breaking the cycle of poverty and empowering those in need to reach their full potential.
