Shaping the Future Through Education and Care

We’re excited to share an update on dedicated efforts in the Philippines, where our focus has been on two key initiatives aimed at making a lasting impact. SNI has invested in projects that support education and care for children in underserved communities for many years in this Southeast Asian country, while also enhancing livelihood opportunities. Additionally, our attention this year is on the prison outreach program that provides vocational training to inmates, helping them and their families build a better future. These efforts are driving real, sustainable change for individuals and communities alike.

Support and Resources

In Cebu, our collaboration with the Rise Above Foundation is making a real difference for children and families in slum areas. We’re helping over 120 kids break the cycle of poverty by providing free education, daily meals, and school supplies. But it’s not just about academics—the foundation’s holistic approach also offers emotional and psychological support, helping these children build confidence and resilience.

Socioeconomic Impact

The Community Center offers more than just education. Free dental care addresses unmet health needs, while the food-sharing program provides essential nutrition. The children’s library is a key resource for learning and growth, sparking curiosity and a love for reading, all contributing to the overall well-being of the community.

Sustainable Livelihoods

Bohol is a province of the Philippines, that comprises Bohol Island and numerous smaller surrounding islands. SNI has partnered here with Familia Mission to promote sustainable livelihoods through organic farming and artisanal crafts. These programs equip local farmers and inhabitants with skills that are both environmentally sustainable and economically viable, which is crucial in a region where agriculture is a primary income source. By introducing organic farming, we’re improving food security and income stability, enabling families to invest in their future and strengthen the local economy

The Prison Outreach

One unique aspect of our work in Bohol is the prison outreach program, where inmates learn organic farming and crafts. The harvested food serves as additional staples for the prisoners and the handmade artifacts are sold in order to support their families. This program gives inmates purpose and hope, helping them maintain family connections and reintegrate into society more smoothly after their release. The skills they acquire not only improve their financial prospects but also restore their dignity and self-worth.

Community and Personal Impact

These initiatives are designed to create ripple effects, benefiting participants, their families, and the wider community. Education helps children break the cycle of poverty, leading to long-term community improvement. Sustainable farming boosts the local economy and reduces environmental harm, securing resources for future generations.

Looking Ahead

On a personal level, these programs are transformative. Children who once saw no way out of poverty are now aspiring to become teachers, doctors, and community leaders. Inmates who were once marginalized are now proud contributors, eager to support their families and reintegrate into society.

SNI’s commitment goes beyond immediate relief; we’re focused on creating sustainable, long-term change. We plan to continue and expand these programs to reach even more communities in need. By prioritizing education, sustainable livelihoods, and community health, we’re helping to build a future where everyone has the chance to thrive.
